WORK is set to begin on a £250,000 indoor skateboarding and BMX park in Kidderminster after Wyre Forest district councillors finally gave it the go-ahead.
Planning permission for the 9,000 sq ft Roll 'n' Ride centre in Stadium Close was given at a development control committee meeting last week.
The scheme had received the green light at a meeting in July when it was unanimously backed by councillors - but work could not begin until an adjustment to the Local Plan, which was agreed last week, had been made.
The project, mooted by Kidderminster pizzeria owners Guiseppe and Jane Belmonte, includes proposals to build a practice area, bike repair and gear shop and refreshment zone for up to 1,000 members.
