HISTORY buffs are being asked to identify a plaque found in a Worcestershire cottage during renovation work.
Richard Butler - who bought Crown Cottage in Worcester Road, in Wychbold two years ago - found the plaque as he extending his house, originally a two-bedroomed workers cottage.
Now, Mr Butler is appealing for anyone with information on the cottage, on the corner of the Worcester Road and Crown Lane, to get in touch.
"I have found out from a book written on the village about 15 years ago the cottage, next to the Poachers Pocket, was once a shop and in 1902 it was the village police station," he said.
"It seems to have a lot of history to it and I would like to find out more about it, especially the plaque."
Mr Butler is currently working against the clock to complete a section of the extension before his wife, Karen, gives birth to the couple's first child, due early next month.
