"CHARGE'em, Sargt-Major!" Something must be done about these dozy, idle individuals on television, who appear not to be concerned about detail, as well as other defects, drawn attention to previously.
ITV is introducing the Queen Mothers 'Pageant' on Horse Guards Parade, referred to "buglers of the Royal Marines", when they were clearly Royal Greenjackets.
The BBC on Her Majesty's Birthday, referred to a "Black Watch Pipe-Major", playing on the battlements of Edinburgh Castle. He was in fact, a Royal Artillery Sergeant, probably a TA soldier, in Highland Dress with the "gunners" cap-badge in his Bearskin.
ITV drooled on about the "Band of the Welsh Guards, with their Regimental Mascot" when parading in Cardiff Castle. It was a Welsh Divisional Band, with the regimental mascot of the Royal Regiment of Wales.
"Escort, Accused, Witness, by the left, quick march!"
