AN LPG-powered Range Rover exploded in flames in Kidderminster forcing firefighters to tackle the blazing vehicle from behind a wall.
The fire at Sneads Green, yesterday at 1.30pm, destroyed the vehicle.
It is believed a fuel-line problem ignited the liquid petroleum gas.
"Two crew with breathing apparatus used a brick wall as a shield," said Sub Officer Jim Richards from Kidderminster Fire Station.
"As soon as we realised it was LPG we took care because it is pretty nasty stuff and can be like a bomb going off."
A spate of grass fires also kept Wyre Forest crews busy with two at Woodbury Road by the railway embankment at 3pm.
