BARNT Green Spartak opened their Midland Combination Division Two campaign with a tough 1-0 win against Chelmsley Town who were relegated from Division One last season.
Spartak had the better possession but Town had the better chances, with Green keeper John Slade making three fine saves.
The match was heading for a draw until Yemi Ingram marked his debut with a goal from 15 yards out in the 85th minute to secure the three points.
