THE new season is about to get under way for youngsters at Redditch Rugby Club and more players are being asked to sign up.
Registration takes place at the Bromsgrove Road ground from 10am on Sunday, September 3.
Last season, the club had a record number of registered junior players - in excess of 120.
This season, with more resources in place and with the help and support of parents, the target is to break the 150-player barrier.
Throughout the summer, the juniors have invested heavily in coaching education, with several new coaches qualifying and others extending their coaching skills, and also in refereeing courses. And for the first time, some junior players have qualified as referees.
The emphasis is on safety, fun and rugby skills development for youngsters of all ages.
Players old and new, experienced and novices, are all welcome, at all ages from 6 to 17.
The complexities of the game are introduced step by step, from non-contact, seven-a-side rugby for the youngest age groups through to 15-a-side at U13 level upwards.
Mums and dads are also encouraged to come along and watch, to help or to coach.
For more details, call coaches Garry or Judith on 450335 (evenings only).
