MORE than 50 nurses from across the country visited an open day at the Alexandra Hospital.

The event on August 11 attracted a majority of nurses from outside Redditch - six of whom were subsequently offered jobs.

The remaining nurses are to be interviewed for a number of posts. A hospital spokesman said: "There was a steady flow all day and only a few came from Redditch. We had people from all over the country who all want to come and work at the Alexandra Hospital."

Director of nursing for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Acute Trust, Cathryn Plain, said: "These nurses were interested in posts across all the different departments of the hospital and were particularly impressed by the facilities provided at the Alexandra Hospital."
