A DRUNKEN man dropped his trousers in front of police officers after mixing his medication with alcohol.

Worcester magistrates were told that police noticed Richard Coton on Tuesday August 1, in Farmers Way, Droitwich.

He told officers he had been involved in a fight.

Julian Harris, prosecuting, said Coton was unsteady on his feet.

"The officers saw blood on his hand and at the side of his mouth. He started fidgeting in his pockets and they decided to search him.

"But he pulled his trousers down, exposing his backside. There were two young girls close by. He was arrested," he said.

Coton, of Harrow Croft, Droitwich, admitted being drunk and disorderly and committing a Bail Act offence on Tuesday August 8.

Iain Willis, defending, said the 22-year-old had been sectioned in Newtown Hospital, Worcester.

"He left the hospital in late July," he said. "He's suffering from schizophrenia. He takes medication and should not drink with it.

"As a result of this incident he forgot he was supposed to appear in court. Luckily, his father became aware of the situation."

Coton was fined £60 for being drunk and disorderly and £20 for the Bail Act offence, and was ordered to pay £20 court costs.
