THE second annual Droitwich Rugby Club tens tournament was won by the home club's first team.
Sides from Bridgnorth, Stourbridge, Pershore and rugby league team Worcestershire Saints joined three teams from the host club for Saturday's event.
After the group stages, Bridgnorth beat Stourbridge in the first semi-final 12-7.
The other semi-final produced a thrilling game between Pershore and Droitwich.
The visitors played some excellent rugby but couldn't take their chances. The homesters, despite spending much time on the back foot, scored two tries through the ever alert Leon Hopkins to win 15-5.
The final was again a quality affair with both sides committed to attack. Droitwich took an early lead and Stourbridge came back strongly but Spa ran out 19-15 winners.
The difference between the sides was the pace of Hopkins and the flair of Rob McClean.
