THE annual end-of-season floodlit tournament for the South Warwickshire Area P.R.S. Summer Tennis League will be held on Sunday, September 3, at Henley Tennis Club.
This will be followed by the league presentation evening.
The tournament, sponsored by Tony King, of Alcester, which involves a compulsory entry of one pair from each of the teams in the league, consists of two competitions.
The top 10 teams in the league play for the Floodlit Shield while the bottom 12 play in the plate competition.
The format involves matches of 11 games duration beginning with a first round of pool games before the knockout stage is entered.
The first matches begin at 4pm prompt, with the finals at 8pm.
Afterwards, the trophies will be presented by the sponsors, with Mr King presenting the Floodlit Shields and the League Cups being presented by Fred and Betty Prudden, of Prudden Road Surfacing, Redditch.
Also, £50 cheques will be presented to be used for junior development by the teams finishing top of each of the three divisions - Studley A, Inkberrow and Claverdon.
The cheques are being donated by Ian Dallas of Redditch Roadstone.
