THE chant of 'come on you Greens' could be about to change - Bromsgrove Rovers are planning to play in yellow this season.
They will be sporting a kit similar to the famous Brazil strip if the Victoria Ground club clinches a new sponsorship deal.
The team could run out in yellow shirts, blue shorts and white socks for the home game against Blakenhall on Bank Holiday Monday. The away kit will be all blue.
Chief executive Pat Bannister said: "Sponsors have a choice about the kit and they have chosen a popular style and colour.
"Hopefully, we will sell a lot of shirts."
Bannister remained tight-lipped about the name of the sponsor but said a deal might be finalised this week.
He was unable to attend the season opener on Saturday because he was at a wedding.
In view of the club's off-the-field difficulties, some supporters believed his absence was significant.
But he told the Advertiser/Messenger: "I'm not going anywhere and there is no problem with the stability of Bromsgrove Rovers.
"Stuart Arnold is trying to sell his shares but that does not affect the club."
*Peter Slater, who formerly ran the Victoria Club and won awards for the canteen, has been made a life member of the Rovers.
