Sutton Town 1

Feckenham 1

THE Millers got a deserved point at Sutton on Saturday with an impressive team performance.

Feckenham started well, with Stuart Douglas and Trevor Boot giving Richard Hadley a chance which keeper Ford kept out with his legs.

Then, Richard Jones' header beat the keeper but just missed the target.

Sutton nearly broke on 25 minutes when Merchant's drive was kept out by the diving Mark Sheils in the Millers' goal.

A misunderstanding in the Millers' midfield allowed Walker to score via a deflection, leaving Sheils with no chance.

Sutton held the upper hand until half time without adding to their lead.

The Millers created two good chances to equalise but Jones' and Boot's efforts were both kept out by Ford from point blank range.

Sutton nearly added to their lead but Amory's effort from 10 yards was somehow kept out by Sheils when a goal looked certain.

Hadley and James Harper both came agonisingly close to scoring but just as time was running out, Mark Cund's deep free kick was laid back by Boot for Jones to clip the ball over Ford for a deserved point.

Credit to both sides for an entertaining game.
