THE annual meeting was held at the Swan Hotel on July 26.
After a meal, president Dennis Agg gave his report of the last year. He thanked all officers for their help during his year of office and reported his attendance on our behalf to the British Legion Service of Remembrance and the Court Leet March and Church Service.
With the help of his wife, Janette, he supplied a tapestry to be incorporated in the Alcester Millennium Commemorative Tapestry.
Finally, he wished his successor a happy and successful year.
The treasurer then tabled the audited accounts for the past year and reported the club was in a sound financial position and there would be no change in charges.
Dennis Agg then confirmed and installed the officers for the next 12 months as follows: president, Peter Buxton; vice-president, Tony Homer: immediate past president, Dennis Agg; secretary, Bert Randel; speaker secretary, John Watt; social secretary, Peter Buxton; press secretary, Steve Jones and auditor, Roger Curtiss.
In addition, the club committee officers are Steve Jones and James Barton.
The present membership is 47. One member has moved area and four new members have joined.
Any retired business or professional men wishing to join Alcester Probus Club would be most welcome.
Please call Peter Buxton on 01789 762771. The next meeting is today.
