THE Primrose Hospice funds have been given a £2,000 boost.
The Finstall-based hospice and cancer care centre was the charity Cllr Richard Deeming (Con, Cofton Hackett), last year's chairman of Bromsgrove District Council, chose to support during his year in office, which ended in May.
Last week at the Council House in Burcot Lane, Bromsgrove, he handed over a cheque for £2,116.35 to hospice chairman John Burman, a surgeon from Alvechurch.
Maurene Wilson, the Primrose's director of fundraising, said: "We are delighted to accept the donation from Cllr Deeming from his fund-raising activities during his year as chairman and to have his support for the work we do."
The money was raised from several events attended by Cllr Deeming including the Guy Fawkes bonfire, switching on the Christmas lights and the spring civic ball.
Cllr Deeming said he thanked the people of Bromsgrove for giving so generously.
