Redditch MP Hal Miller has asked the Transport Minister to speed up road building between Redditch and Bromsgrove.
Mr Miller has written to the minister asking whether it is possible to bring forward work on the Bromsgrove Highway behind Birchfield Road, Redditch and make a start on the northern section of the Bromsgrove Eastern By-pass.
Answering an earlier question from Mr Miller in the House of Commons, the minister said he expected to reach a decision on the public inquiry into the Bromsgrove section of the M42 next summer.
This, said, Mr Miller, would prolong and increase the anxiety with those whose homes were likely to be affected and mean traffic bound for the new National Exhibition Centre would seek short cuts through the two towns.
