THE Elgar School of Music is running new courses when it reopens for the new academic year next month.
In partnership with the School of Continuing Studies of Birmingham University, there will be a part-time course for the Certificate of Higher Education in Music.
This two-year course offers instruction in harmony and counterpoint, musical history, aural skills and much more.
Anyone pursuing musical interests for leisure purposes may be interested in a one-year Learning to Compose course led by the school's principal, Dr Donald Hunt.
Placesare limited to allow for individual tuition.
Sessions in musical appreciation will also be considered and there will be a course on music and painting to complement the monthly series of illustrated lectures.
