A POLICEMAN suffered minor neck injuries when he broke the fall of a man who plummeted 15 ft after threatening to kill himself.

The 41-year-old, who has not been identified, was hanging from a window frame on the first floor of his Kidderminster home when PC Dean Cave arrived on the scene just before 11.30pm on Friday.

The man fell from his precarious position and PC Cave instinctively broke his fall, leaving himself with neck injuries. The man was unhurt.

Police spokesman PC Adrian Hewitt said PC Cave had taken a couple of days off and was now back at work. He added charges would not be brought against the man, who had been "a bit distressed".
