AN Aston Villa fanatic will experience the day of his dreams when he leads out his beloved team as mascot this weekend.
David Knight, of Manor Avenue South, Kidderm-inster, will also be a television star for the day as Sunday's Premiership clash against Chelsea is being screened live across the nation.
The 13-year-old, who has followed the Villains and watched them from the Holte End since the age of six, will be treated to two complimentary tickets, a kit and a pre-match stadium tour.
His father Simon said David was particularly relishing the opportunity to meet his favourite Villa star, striker Dion Dublin.
He added: "David was thrilled when he learned he had been drawn to be the mascot as supporting Villa has always ran in our family.
"He actually sent in his application form and a passport photograph two years ago but all of a sudden this month we were told he would lead the team out against Chelsea. He's obviously thrilled he has been chosen for such a big game."
Mr Knight is also buying two extra tickets so that his wife Liz and daughter Kathryn will be able to enjoy the big occasion at Villa Park.
