Pershore Town 3, Massey Ferguson 2
PERSHORE Town started their new season in the Midland Combination in fine style with a brace of wins, scoring seven goals in the process.
Colin Shepherd's side overcame Massey Ferguson 3-2 on Saturday and then repeated the dose with a 4-1 defeat of Coventry Marconi on Tuesday night.
Saturday's was a ding-dong affair that could have gone either way. Town were first to threaten and Dan Whitehouse made a brilliant save to deny Jon Gregory.
A minute later Ian Stewart missed a sitter when he ran free into the box, while Paul Jones also spurned an easy chance to put the hosts ahead in the eighth minute.
The visitors came closest to scoring when Innis struck the woodwork before Jones made amends for his earlier miss when when he put the Pershore ahead with a terrific 30-yard free kick.
Crighton levelled within eight minutes of the restart with a simple tap in but Town regained the lead 18 minutes from time.
Gregory pressured a defender and his attempted back header intended for the keeper rolled into the net.
It took Massey just 13 minutes to draw level when an overhead kick from Fearn hit the net like a rocket.
However, Town weren't finished and Stewart headed home the winner with just three minutes left following a free kick from Glen Burrow.

Town's midweek triumph was far more comfortable after Simon Brain had broken the deadlock in first half stoppage time.
Neil Turner had earlier produced a couple of excellent stops to keep out Marconi while Gregory's 35-yard blast thumped against the crossbar.
Jones saw a header cleared off the line but the striker wasn't so unlucky when Stewart set him up in the 48th minute to double Pershore's lead.
Mahoney again struck wood for the visitors before Richie Halion made it 3-0.
The visitors grabbed a consolation but Town had the final say when Brain set up debutant Gary Crewe for a fourth.
Town's second string made a good start in the Bank's League Division One South on Saturday when they defeated Gornal 4-0 The goals came from Beck (2), Jones and Chalmers.
