I AM incredulous.
On the front page of the Shuttle (August 10) is a story about a man who died of a heart attack despite the efforts of an ex-nurse and a St John ambulance. And on the letters page is M Green singing the praises of Ronkswood's tin shack hospital. And, even worse, Louise Edginton tells people that the Government will not do anything because the Save the Hospital campaigners have been elected.
They were elected because the Government was not prepared to do anything in the first place.
David Lock was elected because he said he would keep Kidderminster Hospital services - well?
In the report on the front page the ambulance service stated that there was only one ambulance working that day and it was stuck in Worcester.
Only one ambulance!
It takes at least 30 minutes to get to Worcester, traffic permitting, so our one ambulance is out of Kidderminster for at least an hour.
M Green, Louise Edginton - do you know how to stop internal bleeding or set a broken bone? Do you know what to do in the event of a heart attack?
The hospital campaigners, including me, are trying to keep services in Kidderminster. I have helped raise over £25,000 for equipment in that hospital. What have you done?
Anyone going up the stairs in E block will see a carpet on the wall. It's from the Seven Stars Medical Aid Appeal.
My mate Mark and I put that on the wall.
I've been to one child's funeral and I do not wish to go to another.
