PAUL Webb insisted there was no bad feeling between him and Nigel Pepper after his challenge left the Scunthorpe United skipper with a double leg break.
Pepper lashed out at Webb with a punch after the 50-50 challenge, but Webb distanced himself from the incident after the 2-0 defeat at Glanford Park.
He said: "I don't know what happened, it came about that quickly, but as far as I was concerned it was just a 50-50 challenge.
"The thing that happened after was a bit naughty - he threw a punch at me so there was no question about it, that's what he's been sent off for.
"I didn't go into the tackle to hurt him and I wish him a speedy recovery. I have never done anybody in my life."
The tackle came after 15 minutes of the game and Pepper was so incensed that, lying in agony on the ground, he still had the energy to land a weighty blow on Webb.
"I think it was just a bit of frustration that he threw the punch."
CRAIG Hinton firmly believes Kidderminster can kill off Walsall's Worthington Cup hopes when the sides square up for the second leg in two weeks' time. The centre-half was in outstanding form in the 1-1 first leg draw at the Bescot Stadium and is confident Harriers can go one better back at Aggborough.
He said: "We're confident we can upset them because we've shown we're up to the test already.
"Walsall were very sharp from the start and to come away with a draw is a great result.
"I think we did well in the first half and had plenty of the ball but they bombarded us a bit at the start of the second half."
He added: "You can tell the difference between a good Division Two side and a team from Division Three - they were so strong and if you made a mistake they were quickly onto it.
"I really enjoyed the match - it's always good to test yourself against higher opposition."
