GREY skies and afternoon rain failed to dampen spirits at an annual charity event in Wolverley which again proved popular among district folk and those from further afield.
The seventh Wolverley Vintage Vehicle Rally attracted about 300 visitors and raised £200 for the Habberley Hawks junior football team to buy new playing strips.
Organiser Phil Stanford said of last Sunday's event: "I was very satisfied with the attendance considering the weather.
"There was a varied collection of vintage cars, lorries, motorbikes and other stationery engines on display and the car boot sale and beer tent also proved popular."
He added: "I'm almost certain I will stage the event for the eighth time next year, especially as it again attracted people from Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury."
