THE Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) has announced a list of events for September and October.

RSC Events is a regular programme of discussions, debates and play readings, which give audiences the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the company and its work.

There will be pre-matinee and pre-evening performances on Henry IV (parts 1 and 2), Henry V, Richard II and Romeo and Juliet between September 9 and October 6. These will take place at the theatre where the production is being shown.

Pre-show presentations include Henry IV, Henry V and Romeo and Juliet. Once again, these will take place where the production is being shown.

There will be a debate on September 15. Writing in Water-the Histories as History will take place in the Swan Theatre at 7.30pm.

This will investigate how much can be learned from the history plays about Shakespeare's time, as well as the time of the plays' action.

There will also be a play, Laughter in the Dark and several free post-show events on Richard II, Henry IV (parts 1 & 2), Romeo and Juliet and Henry V.
