BROADWAY captain Peter Bastow held his annual Captains Day competitions.
Unfortunately, the weather was far from kind with slight drizzle in the morning, which turned heavier for the afternoon players.
The morning competition was an individual stableford for men with full handicap allowance playing off the yellow tees.
This gave 22-handicap player Brian Fuller a victory with 44 points.
Aubrey Clarke was runner-up with 43 points beating Mark Stedman on a countback. Fourth place went to Ian Moreton (42).
The longest drive down the 18th was won by Stephen Griffin and nearest the pin on the fifth was won by James Campbell, who placed his shot 65 inches from the hole.
The mixed greensomes stableford in the afternoon was won by Mike Shaw and Janet Straw with 42 points.
The battle for the next places needed a countback with three pairs returning 41 points, Don and Sigrid Butler edged second place from Arthur and Beryl Godfrey who put Derek and June Evans into fourth place.
The longest drive was won by Joan Gisbourne for the ladies and Mike Shaw for the men. Nearest the pin on the fifth was won by Denise Parker for the ladies and Mick Lee for the men.
The Tilbrook Cup Flag competition has been won by Philip Parsons just beating Dave Morris into second place with Rob Vacalopoulos in third.
The Division One medal for members with handicaps up to 14 proved another romp for Broadway's up and coming juniors.
Ben Storey carded a remarkable net 63 which has now reduced his handicap to eight, while a countback was required to separate eventual runner-up and junior member Paul O'Hagan into second place ahead of Terry Sandalls. Both players carded net 64.
