HAVING just read your article which sensibly talks about a bid to form a body to licence hunting with dogs, I write to say that I am sick and tired of hearing one-line comments from Worcester MP Michael Foster.
He has no understanding of hunting whatsoever when he says that the Middle Way group does not address the cruelty of the sport.
If Mr Foster would take off his anti-hunting glasses for just a short while and read the finding of the Burns Inquiry, he would discover that other methods of control can cause far more serious welfare problems.
However, he is not interested in the welfare of the fox. He is only interested in trying to make a name for himself and appeasing his anti-hunting friends.
Why for pity's sake did he get involved in this issue when he represents an urban constituency where no hunting takes place ?
I have challenged Mr Foster on many occasions to debate this issue in front of his constituents in Worcester, yet on every occasion, he runs away. The reason that he does so is because he knows that he could never debate this issue factually against those who understand the issue properly.
My message to the Worcester MP remains the same as it has for the last two years.
And that is, either debate the issue publically, or alternatively, keep quiet on matters that you do not understand.
