AN angler has reeled in the funds for a special school after taking part in a 36-hour sponsored fish.
Kevin Bennett, of Wilden Top Road, Stourport, has so far raised £332 for Blakebrook Special School and the money is still rolling in after his mammoth effort at Moorlands Farm in Kidderminster this week.
He was inspired to help Blakebrook for its work in helping his son Matthew who suffers from Downs Syndrome and is a pupil at the school.
Mr Bennett, who himself has an artificial limb and is a regular visitor to the pool at Moorlands Farm, said: "Blakebrook really is a great school and I wanted to do something to help out the people involved there.
"I hope the school can buy some valuable equipment with the funds."
Mr Bennett, who caught 200lb of fish during the event, paid special tribute to Moorlands Farm owner John Talbot and Clive Munslow for their efforts in helping him.
