A PRE-prep school has received a glowing report from Government inspectors.
Staff at Abberley Hall Pre-preparatory and Nursery were said to provide a caring, supportive and challenging environment for children.
The "dedicated and professional" staff were praised by Ofsted inspectors for providing worthwhile opportunities for youngsters.
Inspectors said: "Established routines are particularly successful in supporting the children's learning and the high expectations regarding behaviour, personal independence and achievement levels for each child."
Most children not only reached desirable learning outcomes but exceeded them in language, literacy and maths.
Personal and social development was a strength of the school with children developing high levels of self-respect and confidence.
The report said: "The children have strong characters and are well supported to show good behaviour and to develop self-confidence."
It added staff were always calm and conveyed their high expectations regarding the children's behaviour and relationships with one another.
School registrar Gill Portsmouth said: "We are very pleased with the report and it confirms that we are continuing to achieve the high standards set by the staff and governing body here."
