ORGANISERS of this year's Upton Water Festival are hoping for a big turn out for tomorrow's festival parade (Saturday, August 26).
Theme for the parade is Water 2000 and it is hoped there will be plenty of people in fancy dress joining in on foot.
Anyone wanting to take part should meet at Old Road, opposite the Fire Station, at 3.30pm, ready to depart at 4pm.
The fun starts at 10am, when the street fair and stalls will open and boats will start arriving.
Then there will be entertainment throughout the day, with planes and microlights on the airfield, a riverside pig roast, jazz music from the Hot Revival Stompers and street entertainment including juggling, stilt walking, unicycling and a didgeridoo busker.
The Earl of Stamford's Regiment of Foote, from the Sealed Knot Society, will revive the days of the English Civil War and there will also be a World War II display.
Following the big parade, the evening starts with music from Upton Youth Band, followed by more jazz and a duck race at 6.30pm.
Crescendo Big Band will be on the riverside stage during the evening and, when darkness falls, there will be an illuminated boat procession, followed by a fireworks, water and laser display.
Sunday is the day for boat races and the first ever festival dog show.
There will be children's funfair rides on the river front on Monday, with a car boot sale on Upton Sports Field in the afternoon, in aid of Water festival funds.
Entry forms for the dog show, duck race, illuminated boats and boat races will be available on the day from the festival caravan.
