I WONDER why there has not been much correspondence about the Elgar statue. Perhaps so much money has been spent on the Winter Gardens, Church Street and Barnards Green, plus the plans for Manders, that people have just lost interest. They might feel, as I do, that the statue is dwarfed by the water feature towering over it. Incidentally, how splendid "Winter Gardens" sounds compared to "New Space" or "The Forum".
If you've spent a lifetime in Malvern you wonder how it is that with all the changes made and money spent we came to lose the caf and toilets on the Beacon. What is better than a cup of tea after climbing to the top?
It's easy to criticise but some of the decisions made show a lack of common sense. A shortage of objections in print does not mean that folk are happy with what has happened - more likely that they feel quite frustrated.
