SIXTY and Worcestershire Motor Club, organisers of the Listers Subaru Woodpecker Stages Rally, have announced another full entry for the event on September 2 and 3.
One hundred and eighty cars will start the eight-stage rally at 2.30pm on September 2 from Ludlow Racecourse, contesting four forest special stages before service back at the racecourse and an overnight parc ferme.
The remaining cars restart at 8.30am on September 3 from Ludlow Castle, contesting a further four forest stages, finishing from twelve midday onwards at Ludlow Racecourse.
meanwhile, the recent Quinton Stages was the first outing together for the Cottrill Transport Rally Team of Geoff Cottrill (Metro 6R4) and Nathan Crewe (K-Series Escort).
Both crews were out in force supporting Quinton Motor Club who run the Llandrindod Wells-based event.
The stages of Mid-Wales were in good condition and both drivers had trouble- free runs, although Cottrill, with co-driver John Connor had to tackle the first stage in the rain because they were running higher up the field than the other half of the Cottrill Transport team.
With only a few cars going off, the competition continued to be tough. Cottrill ended a run of bad luck with 28th place overall and an award for best Quinton crew.
Crewe and co-driver Chris Clifford finished second in class and 64th overall. This good result moves Crewe into second place in the Welsh Clubmans 1400 Championship.
