"HOW can the blind lead the blind"? It was naughty of George Cowley to criticise Andy Hope Hall in the manner he did (You Say, August 15).
He is so blind he just cannot see the wood for the trees, though of course, he must be admired for his loyalty to the church. Who is not? It is our love and loyalty to that church that makes some of us willing to suffer for it.
Liberalism came into use in the early 19th century and has been defined as "the holding of liberal opinions in politics and theology". In theology it has been used with many different shades of meaning.
Today it has been taken to mean freedom and a welcome to new ideas of how life should be lived. The Liberalism in the church has made it man-centred and not God-centred.
