MALVERN Link "has a civic feature to be proud of" after the opening of the latest addition to its streetscene by the chairman of Malvern Hills District Council.
Coun Pat Raven, who represents the area on the council, said the Hampden Road water feature "can hold its own with public sculptures anywhere in the country".
Coun Raven said the feature, designed by artist Rachel Fenner, was the latest addition to the town made possible by the sale of MHDC's housing stock to Elgar Housing Association, releasing the so-called Malvern Millions.
"In Malvern we have had the town centre regenerated, the theatre rebuilt, Grange Road car park extended and the toilets refurbished," she said.
"The Malvern Millions have also helped to rescue Malvern Hills College; funded extensions at the Rugby Club, Cricket Clubs and Manor Park; astro-turf at The Chase and the new Sports Hall by the Splash.
"In the Link we have had the new play areas at Lower Howsell Road and Victoria Park and the Victoria Park pavilion, which is now nearly finished."
