FOR all those people who have always wanted to ride a fire engine, Malvern Fire Station's open day could provide the perfect opportunity.
The annual event is taking place on Saturday, September 2, between 10am and 3pm and planned events include live music, children's go-kart rides, a barbecue and refreshments.
There will also be fire engine rides and water target shooting.
Spokesman for the Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade, Alec Mackie, said all of the brigade's 26 stations hold open days throughout the summer.
"Public access to fire stations is a statutory requirement and the way we've chosen to meet that is to run open days," he said.
"Basically it's a chance for the ratepaying public to see what they get for their money," he said.
All proceeds raised will go to the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund.
