TEN new jobs have been created at the former Cosworth engine plant in Worcester after a tyre company bought the site.
Lloyds TSB Commercial customer Charles Ivill plans to develop Exhaust, Tyres & Batteries (Worcester) Ltd by creating more space for tyre stocks and a retail outlet.
The business is the largest independent tyre supplier in the West Midlands.
The acquisition of the Cosworth site on Hylton Road is the second base to be occupied by the firm in Worcester.
It adds to sites in Lowesmoor, Malvern, Redditch, Cheltenham, Stourport, Evesham and Leamington Spa.
"With a thriving wholesale business built up over 20 years, the site serves the dual purpose of providing much-needed storage space and a first-class retail site," said Philip Eve, of Lloyds TSB Commercial at The Cross, Worcester.
"It's fair to say that we know the market very well and have the buying power to offer our wholesale and retail customers very competitive products," Mr Ivill added.
"This second site in Worcester was too good to miss and we now have the space we need to service our existing customers and plan for the future."
Formula One driver David Coulthard has been invited to open the site later in the year.
