A CHARITY fun day at a Worcester restaurant was a huge success despite the damp Bank Holiday weather.
More than 200 people attended the fete at the Three Pears Beefeater and Travel Inn, in Warndon, on Monday.
The event, just off Sixways, raised £350 for the Make a Wish Foundation.
More money was expected to come from local businesses that had pledged donations.
Two fire trucks and a full crew of firefighters from the Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade were the highlight of the day for a lot of the youngsters.
"The kids absolutely loved it," said Three Pears' public relations co-ordinator Val Edwards.
The day also included various stalls, a raffle, a bouncy castle and face painting.
A 70s disco meant adults could carry on having fun long into the evening.
Regional co-ordinator for the West Midlands branch of the Make a Wish foundation, Julie Wedgbury, said it had been a lovely day.
"The staff made a great effort," she said. "They did everything they could to make it a success."
