AFTER a promising season last year, Bromsgrove Men's Hockey Club is looking forward to the new campaign.
Julian Court has been appointed as the First team captain. They were just one place off promotion last season.
With new faces arriving at the club, including Andy Clayton who impressed during the summer league, there is sure to be competition for places.
The season kicks off with a friendly against Old Halesonians on Saturday.
Court said: "After last season I will be hoping to take the club to new heights."
The Seconds and Thirds will be looking to consolidate.
Ian Rooke is at the helm of the Third team but Martin Court has resigned as Second team captain. Steven Shaw looks set to take over.
It will be a new dawn for the Fourths who have joined the Fourth XI league for the first time in the club's history.
Inspirational captain Pete Mackie said: "It will be an exciting adventure for me and the club.
"Hopefully some of our junior players will continue their progress by helping us to finish in a respectable position."
Bromsgrove received a pre-season boost when they were rated as one of the most sociable teams in the Midlands in a recent poll.
Anyone interested in joining the club is welcome. Training will be on Thursday nights at Bromsgrove School.
