IN November 1999, I was referred by my GP to Worcester Royal Infirmary with a high prostate specific antigen (PSA).
I waited six months before a scan and biopsy were performed and on the seventh month, I was told I had prostate cancer.
And now, after 10 months, I am still waiting for treatment, even though I went privately for some of the investigations and consultations to try to speed up the process.
We are constantly being advised by the medical profession to act as soon as we think there is a problem. I did, and where did it get me?
I think the hospital system in this area has let me down badly and I just cannot understand why I have had to wait so long when, I understand, breast cancer usually takes about two weeks between diagnosis and the start of treatment.
