TWO family pets have been released from difficult situations thanks to the work of Redditch firefighters.
Last week, a 16-week-old kitten, Jessica, was rescued from a tree in Tenbury Close after she had been stuck for five hours.
Her owner failed to coax the kitten down and the RSPCA said they could not come out until the next day but firefighters rushed to the rescue.
And on Bank Holiday Monday, firefighters were called to Loxley Close to release a dog stuck in a fence.
The dog had tried to jump the fence but had got caught and the wire had twisted round its leg.
