WYRE FOREST Football Club had their biggest test yet as they took on undefeated Leamington away in Division Two of the Midland Combination and won 2-1.
Leamington created the early chances, but poor finishing let them down and it was Forest who took the lead when John Maffei's shot was deflected into his own net by Will Payne.
In the second half Forest went two ahead when Stuart Brogan's fine cross found Andy Oakes who headed home.
After 70 minutes Leamington pulled one back through Nick Horton, but the Forest defence held firm to spoil Leamington's 100 per cent record.
Forest will be at home on Saturday to Kenilworth Wardens. Kick-off is at 2.45pm - players should report to the ground at 1.30pm.
