IN the Yardley Wood league, Alcester Bowls Club's A team were entertaining West Midlands Police at home.
The match got off to a flying start with the first jack off a superb 21-5 from Rod Brammer.
After the first four jacks, Alcester had a 21 shot lead with an excellent win for Peter Barber 21-13 and Chris Hollins 21-15.
The second half of the match saw Terry Rawlings in fine form winning 21-6 to seal a 44-shot victory for Alcester in the final match of this league's season.
In the Heart of England league, Alcester A were at home for the return visit by Greet.
A win was desired after last week's loss by such a small margin.
The first half saw Alcester off to a good start with a 21-7 win from Chris Hollins.
The A team captain, having just returned from holiday, fought valiantly but unfortunately for Alcester, could not quite find winning form
The second half saw four fantastic jacks from Ron Hawksley 21-8, Dave Hovell and Renny Bannister, both 21-10, and Peter Barber 21-14, which brought the game thoroughly into Alcester's hands with seven winners out of eight to give Alcester a well deserved victory.
The B team, meanwhile, were away to Woodbourne.
The game got off to a bad start, leaving them with an uphill struggle if they were going to pull out an away win.
Sue Daniels was again on fine form and won 21-3, which gave Alcester some hope.
Her fine performance was mirrored by Jean Bannister 21-7, Len Daniels 21-8 and Cath Osbourne 21-9, which gave Alcester an overall winning score of 30 points.
