A BROMSGROVE teenager died from head injuries after a collision with a recovery vehicle.
Eighteen-year-old Ben Townsend, of Chesworth Road, was dropping off his sister Laura at her boyfriend's house, in Walton Road, when the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Bromsgrove firefighters used cutting equipment to free Ben from his red Metro and he was taken to Redditch's Alexandra Hospital, where he died later that night.
Richard Stevens, from Selly Oak, was driving the truck.
Laura told the Advertiser/Messenger Ben had dropped her off on Birmingham Road seconds before the crash.
She said: "I turned around but I don't know what happened."
Parents Alexander and Anthea were too distressed to talk and were being comforted at their home, on Harwood Park, by Laura and twin sister Ella, who are on holiday from university.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at 12.15am, to call them on (01527) 584888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
