DEFENDER Quentin Townsend was tackled from behind even before he arrived at Bromsgrove Rovers' game last Tuesday night.
His car was involved in a minor accident just off Spaghetti Junction, in Birmingham.
The Ford Escort was not badly damaged and the passengers, including fellow players Mark Benbow and Mark Burrow, were uninjured.
Townsend exch-anged details with the other driver and arrived at Sutton Coldfield Town only a few minutes after they were due.
The shunt meant the lads had to get their kits out of the boot by lowering the back seats.
Townsend obviously put the incident to the back of his mind - he was the Advertiser/Messenger's man of the match in the 1-0 win.
