HEADTEACHERS in Bromsgrove and Rubery are celebrating the best GCSE results ever.
Kevin Peck, headteacher of North Bromsgrove High School, praised 'hard-working pupils' at the venue in School Drive.
More than 50 per cent of students there obtained five or more A* to C grades this year with the best performance in history at the school.
Edward Hollick scored ten A grades -- five of them were stars -- and Mark Johnson received six As including two stars.
Tom Porter chalked up five A grades with two star merits.
The girls were not left behind with Cheryl King snatching eight As and Hannah Brakes was close behind with seven top grades.
Across at Waseley Hills High School, in School Road, Rubery, more than 55 per cent of pupils achieved five or more GCSE grades A* to C.
Girls out-performed the boys but headteacher David Thurbon said the lads gained an excellent set of results.
He added: "I am delighted with the results, which reflect a lot of hard work.
"The fact the results continue to improve is also down to good teaching, which motivated students to learn."
NEW College's Bromsgrove campus, in Blackwood Road, saw 55 per cent of exam takers gaining grades C and above.
There was a 100 per cent pass rate in Italian, Spanish, IT, law and physics.
Head of sixth form centre Mike McCarthy said: "This is pleasing when you consider most of our students are adults returning to education."
