INSTEAD of a meeting this month, a pleasant evening was spent visiting the gardens of two of members.
One small garden and one large, both were packed with interest and colour, no mean achievement at this time of year.
Tea and coffee were served, and tales of gardening achievements and disasters swapped.
Members have tried to grow pumpkins this year but many seeds failed to germinate.
The successful ones have yielded pumpkins of various sizes, ranging from the mint imperial to walnut, so if you have a pumpkin larger than a ping pong ball, why not enter it in the society's show on Saturday, September 9, at Where Next Nurseries, Wellesbourne Close, Redditch.
No pumpkin? Come along anyway. More details from Carol Atkinson on 69955 (daytime).
