THE second in a series of special concerts takes place in Stratford tonight (Thursday).
Stephan Loges, winner of last year's Wigmore Hall International Song Competition, and his pianist partner and co-winner, Alexander Schmalcz, take to the stage at the Shakespeare Institute on Church Street at 7.30pm.
The two young artists will open the second of the On Purpose to Grace Harmony concerts with a tribute to Bach and five songs from Schemelli's Musical Song Book.
This will be followed with a group of French settings of Daudet, Hugo, Verlaine and others by Reynaldo Hahn. Part 2 of the programme will be Schuann's Dichterleibe, his famous cycle of poems by Heinrich Heine op.48.
Tickets are available on the door and cost £10 (£8 conc), £3 for students, and under 18's go free.
