HOW many readers of the Journal Series are concerned for the future of our world? Whether it be crime, corruption, drugs, pollution of all description, social values, health care, education, indeed any matter which causes concern within our British society. Looking further afield, increasing Third World debt, wars and famine, exploitation of the young, the weak and vulnerable, ethnic cleansing; all of these, and so much more could be left to the history books of the 20th Century.
As we enter a new century and millennium, is it not time to rise above the past, and enter this new era with a clean sheet? Trying to resolve these issues individually has little or no chance of success. But to deal with them collectively means that we strike at the root cause of the problems.
The future of this world of human existence lies in a global co-operative, through which all things are possible. This, however, requires the consensus of all peoples around the world. It must start somewhere and where better than the North Cotswold Branch of the United Nations Association? Only through this branch, and the head office in London, can the United Nations be accessed and the voice of the people heard.
Please come and join us at the North Cotswold Branch, UNA, and share your concerns with like minded people. Write to: David A Leadbeater and Gwen Hands, Tunstall, Catbrook, Chipping Campden, Glos. GL55 6DE.
