DISABLED children from Stratford and all over south Warwickshire were able to try their hands at a range of new activities this summer, thanks to the ILEAP scheme.
ILEAP (Inclusive Leisure, Education, Activity Project) saw 33 young people, aged from five to 18, enjoy, supported by youth workers, sports, arts, crafts, music and dance throughout the district.
The scheme, formerly the Summer Activities Project for Disabled Children, was launched earlier this year, thanks to a £62,000 boost from Children in Need which allowed the appointment of a full-time co-ordinator.
The youngsters gathered for the last time last night (Wednesday) and were keeping fingers crossed that recent funding bids would enable ILEAP to be offered all year round instead of just summer.
