A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl, believed to be from Droitwich Spa, sustained a serious head injury after she fell off her horse at a riding competition.
The unnamed rider was to compete in the Broughton Green Horse Show, in Goose Hill, Hanbury, on Bank Holiday Monday.
At 10am she was airlifted to the intensive therapy unit at the Diana, Princess of Wales Children's Hospital, Birmingham, and treated for serious head injuries.
A county air ambulance spokesman said: "It appeared the girl had fallen from a horse and the mount also fell and rolled over her head."
Yesterday, a West Mercia Constabulary spokesman said she was in a 'comfortable' condition.
