A CHARGE against a Stourport licensee of assault causing bodily harm to his wife in a bar-room row has been dropped.
The prosecution had asked for crown court trial for Martin Shannon, 33, of the Hope and Anchor in New Street.
But eight weeks later no papers had been prepared, said his solicitor, Charles Hamer.
It was understood that the complainant did not want to case to go on.
Shannon had been accused of assaulting Gail Salisbury in the bar of the Holly Bush, which she was managing on a day in May.
Crown prosecutor John Alban-Davies did not oppose the application for discharge and magistrates awarded Shannon his costs.
