NEW bus routes have brought good news for shoppers but mixed fortunes for Kidderminster traders.
First Midland Red has announced a number of services will be linked and diverted to the town's Crossley Retail Park development.
However, there will also be a new bus service operating to Kidderminster's main retail opposition - the Merry Hill Shopping Centre.
Services from the Rifle Range, Offmore, Greenhill and Habberley will be linked to Crossley Park.
Other services will run under a revised timetable to accommodate shopping at the park.
A company spokesman said: "For the first time residents will have the opportunity to travel across town and take advantage of the significant facilities Crossley Retail Park has to offer."
Meanwhile, the 285 service to Merry Hill, which has only operated on a Sunday, will now run seven days a week.
Midland Red commercial manager Austin Birks said: "There has quite clearly been a significant demand for a regular bus service to Merry Hill and we genuinely hope that it will prove successful and urge shoppers to give it a try."
